| CFP closes | January 6, 2027 at 12:01 AM Eastern. Get your talk in by the end of the day on January 5 |
| Conference | July 22–23, 2027 |
| Venue | UTC University Center, Chattanooga, TN |
What you can submit
This year we’re taking two session formats:
- 45-minute sessions. These make up most of the program.
- 90-minute deep dives. These are longer sessions for hands-on or in-depth material that needs room to breathe.
Talks fall into four tracks:
- Creating: building and designing software and products
- Stewarding: operating, securing, and caring for the systems we run
- Leading: guiding teams, setting strategy, and the human side of tech
- Exploring: learning, growing your skills, and trying new things
Not sure which track fits? Pick the closest one. We’d rather see the talk than have you worry about the box.
For speakers
Speakers attend both days of the conference for free. If you’re traveling more than 50 miles to Chattanooga, you can request up to $125 to help cover travel expenses.
First-time speakers are very welcome. Scenic City Summit is a community-run conference with a friendly, regional audience of 300+ people, and it’s a great place to give your first talk.
Need help with your proposal?
We wrote up what makes a great CFP submission. It covers how to write a clear title and abstract, how to scope a talk, and what our reviewers look for. If you’d like feedback on an idea before you submit, get in touch.
Submit your talk
Head to sessionize.com/scs2027 and send us your proposal. More than one idea? Submit more than one. Don’t wait until the last day, either: the CFP closes January 6, 2027 at 12:01 AM Eastern.
See you in the Scenic City this July.
